*Going Home Monday:
- Kids Heart Challenge
*HELO begins 1/13 from 3:15-4:45pm: Your student should have brought home a form confirming what class to attend. Please be on time to pick your student up as our teachers wait to ensure everyone gets home safely. Call the office if you have a change in schedule.
*From PE: Get ready for another Kids Heart Challenge (KHC), supporting the American Heart Association! This year, our school community will learn about staying strong in body and mind, get moving with fun activities, learn about kids with special hearts, and raise funds and awareness for the American Heart Association. Students will view a short video introducing the challenge at the beginning of their P.E. class, and be sure to watch for KHC fliers and stickers coming home with your child on Monday, January 12th. The challenge will end on Friday, January 30th. This year’s heart heroes are ready to help us all live healthier lives and students will have the opportunity to earn cool prizes while raising money for the American Heart Association!

Our H.E.S library is inviting students to publish an original story! One copy will be made for them to take
home and another will be available to check out for all students in the Library. Winter break might be a great
time for your student to work on writing their own book!
Publishing Opens: Tuesday January 6, 2026
Publishing Ends: Monday May 4, 2026 (This is the last day to submit books for publishing)
The story should be an original piece and can be any type/genre of book.
Requirements:
- Only use plain copy paper. Students can come to the library to get paper to write their stories on.
- Make sure to write in black pen or marker and make pictures bright
- Write and draw each page on only one side (not front and back)
- A book cover needs to be provided and must include the title and author(s) (This is a chance to be creative and represent the book, it will be the first thing readers see!).
- A title page (and table of contents if needed) should also be provided with the book.
For any questions or help with books, please see Mrs. Zeller in the Library!
*Colder Weather and Appropriate Shoes: As the weather turns colder, please make sure students have appropriate clothing!

*Lunes de regreso a casa:
- Desafío cardíaco para niños
*HELO comienza 1/13 desde3:15-4:45 p. m.:Su estudiante debería haber traído a casa un formulario que confirma a qué clase asistirá. Por favor, llegue puntual a recogerlo, ya que nuestros profesores esperan para asegurar que todos lleguen sanos y salvos a casa. Llame a la oficina si hay algún cambio de horario.
*De Educación Física:¡Prepárense para otro Desafío Cardíaco Infantil (KHC) en apoyo a la Asociación Americana del Corazón! Este año, nuestra comunidad escolar aprenderá a mantenerse fuerte física y mentalmente, se pondrá en movimiento con actividades divertidas, aprenderá sobre los niños con corazones especiales y recaudará fondos para la Asociación Americana del Corazón. Los estudiantes verán un breve video que presenta el desafío al comienzo de su clase de Educación Física. No se pierdan los volantes y calcomanías de KHC que se enviarán a casa con sus hijos el lunes 12 de enero. El desafío finalizará el viernes 30 de enero. ¡Los héroes del corazón de este año están listos para ayudarnos a todos a llevar una vida más saludable y los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de ganar premios geniales mientras recaudan fondos para la Asociación Americana del Corazón!

¡Nuestra biblioteca de Educación Superior invita a los estudiantes a publicar un cuento original! Se les hará una copia para llevar a casa.
Y habrá otro disponible para préstamo para todos los estudiantes de la biblioteca. ¡Las vacaciones de invierno podrían ser un buen momento para que su estudiante escriba su propio libro!

publicación)
La historia debe ser una pieza original y puede ser de cualquier tipo/género de libro.
Requisitos:
- Utilice únicamente papel normal. Los estudiantes pueden venir a la biblioteca a buscar papel para escribir sus cuentos.
- Asegúrese de escribir con bolígrafo o marcador negro y hacer imágenes brillantes.
- Escribe y dibuja cada página en un solo lado (no adelante y atrás)
- Se debe proporcionar una portada para el libro que incluya el título y el autor(es) (¡Esta es una oportunidad para ser creativo y representar el libro, será lo primero que vean los lectores!).
- También se debe proporcionar con el libro una página de título (y una tabla de contenidos si es necesario).
Si tiene alguna pregunta o necesita ayuda con los libros, consulte a la Sra. Zeller en la biblioteca.
*Clima más frío y calzado apropiado:A medida que el clima se vuelve más frío, ¡asegúrese de que los estudiantes tengan ropa adecuada!
