Welcome back Highland Huskies!
I am Mrs. Grider, a 5th grade teacher here at Highland Elementary! This is my 6th year teaching in Highland and I am so excited to join Highland for another great year! As you walk into my classroom, you will probably quickly notice that I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I hope to meet another chivalrous group of Gryffindors, hard working Hufflepuffs, resourceful Slytherins, and witty Ravenclaws. However, to my students who are not Harry Potter fans, muggles will always be welcome in my room as well.
I will be teaching READING again this year and my goal is to push all of you to be the successful readers I know you can be! Like last year, I will also be coaching this year's 5th grade teams for Battle of the Books! I hope to see many of you participate again or for the first time this year!
I can not wait to get to know each of you. I’m excited for all the laughter, smiles, and memories we will create this year! I do use Class Dojo regularly in my classroom. I will post reminders for any field trips, fundraisers, or extra credit opportunities as the year progresses. Please make sure to sign up as soon as possible.
