About Me!
Welcome to the Weld RE-9 School District!
As I begin my second year as Superintendent, I am incredibly proud to be part of the Weld RE-9 community. Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to get to know our students, staff, families, and community in a much deeper way, and I continue to be impressed by the pride people have in our schools and, most importantly, by how much they care about our kids. In Weld RE-9, we work to approach every decision with a Students First perspective. This year, we are also placing an intentional focus on belonging—making sure every student, in every one of our schools, knows they are valued, supported, and an important part of the Highland community.
This is also an exciting time of growth and investment in the future of our district. Construction of our new K–8 school, made possible by the support of our community through the 2024 bond, continues on time and on budget. The building is scheduled for completion in April 2027 and will welcome students for the 2027–28 school year. At Highland High School, construction is also underway on a new 60' x 60' greenhouse that will expand opportunities for students through horticulture, floriculture, concurrent enrollment, and Career and Technical Education courses within our Agriculture Education program. These projects are about much more than new facilities—they represent our community's investment in creating outstanding opportunities for Highland students for generations to come.
There is a lot to be excited about in Weld RE-9, but what makes this district special is not our buildings—it is our people. I love being part of this community and spending time in our classrooms, at student activities and athletic events, and alongside our staff and families.
