About Me!

Hello  Husky Families,

My name is Carla Cooper and some of you may recognize me as it is my 27th year here at Highland Elementary.  I have taught kinder, 2nd grade, 3rd grade and for the previous 7 years have been the reading interventionist.  This year I will be working closely with my teammate, Brenda Austin, to throw a little math intervention into my day.  I will also be administering the beginning, middle and end of the year reading assessments.  These assessments help determine which kids need to be on Read Plans.  If your student has gaps to fill in reading, I will place them on a Read Plan.  I will reach out to discuss with families the goals and plans to close those gaps!  I have a dojo page this year and feel that will be a great way for us to communicate about student progress.  You can always reach my at [email protected] as well.

 

I am looking  forward to a year of positive student growth in all areas.  Your students matter a great deal to me, so I am honored to build a relationship with each student I have.  It will be a fabulous year!
