Meet the Teacher!
Hello!
My name is Joslyn Sparks and I am thrilled to be teaching 7th and 8th grade Mathematics this year!
I have been with the Highland School District since I was hired in January of 2021, so this will be my 7th school year here! I graduated from University of Northern Colorado in December of 2020 with my bachelors in Mathematics with an emphasis on Secondary Education.
Mathematics has been a passion of mine for a long time and I decided I wanted to teach it when I was in high school. My mission as a math educator is to foster a learning environment where students feel free to explore both the content and their learning styles safely. My goal is to make mathematics more accessible and understandable for a larger number of students.
A little more about myself! I have been married to the love of my life for 3 years and our first child just turned one! I have a Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix named Bandit and a Hognose snake named Andarna. I can often be found curled up with a good book, and my favorite foods are ice cream and pizza!
