About Me!

I am proud to begin my 17th year serving the Highland community and my second year as the Middle School Assistant Principal. Highland has been an important part of my career, and I am thankful to continue serving our students, families, and staff.

During my career in Weld RE-9, I have worked with students in many grades and subjects. I have taught K–5 Spanish, English Language Development, Math, Technology, and Social Studies. I have also coached high school baseball for nearly 20 years. Teaching and coaching have helped me build strong relationships with students. They have also taught me the value of teamwork, leadership, hard work, and good character.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado. I later earned master’s degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Technology.

As an administrator, my goal is to help make our school a place where every student feels supported, challenged, and valued. I believe in building strong relationships, setting high expectations, and working together to help every student succeed. I have learned as a teacher, coach, and administrator that students do their best when they know the adults around them believe in them and want to help them succeed.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three boys. You can usually find us at the ballpark cheering on our boys or spending time together at the lake fishing.

I am thankful to serve the Highland community and look forward to another great year with our students, families, and staff.
