About Me!
Hello Huskies,
My name is Cassi Smith and this will be my second year teaching. I am so excited to be at Highland Elementary, where I went to school. I've been a Highland Husky my whole life.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from UNC, then was a stay-at-home-mom for 8 years. I returned to Highland as a substitute teacher, then became a teacher in my own classroom.
When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my husband and two boys, who both attend HES. We like to go camping and boating, and enjoy relaxing on our “funny farm” with our dogs, cats, chickens, cows, horses, and pigs.
I am so excited to spend another year sharing Science and Social Studies with this group. We will continue to build on the knowledge and relationships that we created last year while preparing for Middle School. I can’t wait to watch these students transform throughout the school year!
