Superintendent’s Message
Andy Lavier, Superintendent – Weld RE-9 School District

 

Welcome to the Weld RE-9 School District!

 

It is an honor to serve as the Superintendent of Schools for Weld RE-9, and I am excited to join a district with such a rich history, strong community values, and a commitment to student success. I believe in the power of public education to transform lives, and I am passionate about ensuring every student is supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Weld RE-9 is entering an exciting chapter in its history. The upcoming construction of our new K–8 school is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to enhance learning environments, unify our school community, and expand opportunities for all students. With careful planning, community input, and a focus on educational excellence, we will create a space that reflects our values, meets the needs of today’s learners, and positions us for a bright future.

 

As a lifelong educator and leader in rural Colorado schools, I bring a collaborative, transparent, and student-centered approach to this role. My leadership is grounded in relationships, authenticity, and high expectations — not just for students, but for myself and our entire organization. I also want to extend my sincere thanks to Karen Trusler for her steady leadership as interim superintendent over the past six months, and for her support and guidance in helping me transition smoothly into this role.

 

Over the coming months, I look forward to getting to know our students, families, staff, and community members. Together, we will strengthen what is already working well in Weld RE-9, while identifying new opportunities to grow, innovate, and excel.

 

Thank you for welcoming me to the Weld RE-9 family. I’m proud to serve this community, and I’m confident that by working together, we can achieve great things for our students and our future.

¡Bienvenidos al Distrito Escolar Weld RE-9!

Es un honor servir como Superintendente de Escuelas de Weld RE-9 y me entusiasma unirme a un distrito con una historia tan rica, sólidos valores comunitarios y un compromiso con el éxito estudiantil. Creo en el poder de la educación pública para transformar vidas y me apasiona asegurar que cada estudiante reciba apoyo, desafíos e inspiración para alcanzar su máximo potencial.

Weld RE-9 está iniciando un capítulo emocionante en su historia. La próxima construcción de nuestra nueva escuela K-8 es una oportunidad única para mejorar los entornos de aprendizaje, unificar nuestra comunidad escolar y ampliar las oportunidades para todos los estudiantes. Con una planificación cuidadosa, la participación de la comunidad y un enfoque en la excelencia educativa, crearemos un espacio que refleje nuestros valores, satisfaga las necesidades de los estudiantes de hoy y nos prepare para un futuro brillante.

Como educador y líder de toda la vida en escuelas rurales de Colorado, aporto a este puesto un enfoque colaborativo, transparente y centrado en el estudiante. Mi liderazgo se basa en las relaciones, la autenticidad y las altas expectativas, no solo para los estudiantes, sino para mí y para toda nuestra organización. También quiero expresar mi sincero agradecimiento a Karen Trusler por su firme liderazgo como superintendente interina durante los últimos seis meses, y por su apoyo y orientación para facilitar mi transición a este puesto sin contratiempos.

En los próximos meses, espero conocer a nuestros estudiantes, familias, personal y miembros de la comunidad. Juntos, fortaleceremos lo que ya funciona bien en Weld RE-9, a la vez que identificamos nuevas oportunidades para crecer, innovar y destacar.
