    Elementary School Secretary

    Highland Elementary School has an opening for a full-time secretary.

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Greets parents and visitors entering the school, determines the nature and purpose of their visit, and directs or escorts them to specific destinations

    Files and maintains records for the school and the nurse’s office such as attendance, various reports, newsletters and registration

    Able to utilize electronic mail-software and process emails, website updates, create signage

    Clerical knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, terminology and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, flyers, and other office procedures

    Interaction with computers, perform administrative activities, work directly with the public, getting information and communicating with supervisors, teachers, peers, and subordinates

    Other duties as assigned

     

    Requirements:

    Active listening, speaking, service orientation, critical thinking and reading comprehension

    Oral comprehension and expression, speech recognition and clarity along with written comprehension

    Cooperation, attention to detail, dependability, integrity and concern for others

    Positive relationships and support, cheerful demeanor

    In physical condition to enable walking, lifting, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, as well as stamina to be active for full work days 

    Salary and Benefits:

    Salary is $14.00-14.90 per hour depending on experience. The district provides health insurance benefits including dental and vision, PERA retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability, an optional supplemental 401(k) plan, an employee assistance plan, and the ability to enroll in supplemental insurances and savings accounts through a third-party vendor.  Weld RE-9 offers sick leave and personal leave as well as other benefits specific to our school district. This position follows the student's calendar for the school year and has professional development days off as well as Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break, Spring Break, and summer break off of work!

    Substitute Secretary

    The individual hired for this position is responsible for filling in for our head secretary from approximately September 26, 2022 to November 18, 2022.  

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Receptionist for the middle School including answering phones, checking in students and visitors, mail distribution

    Collect and manage student and staff absence information and schedule substitutes

    Provide support to staff including ordering supplies

     

    Requirements:

    The ideal candidate will possess strong self-intiative and organizational skills, be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, be comfortable providing support to staff members, students, parents, and the general public.

    Salary and Benefits:

    The substitute rate is $13.00 per hour. The district offers substitutes leave at the rate of 1 hour per every 30 hours worked under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA). Substitutes are enrolled in a PERA retirement plan and have the option to enroll in a supplemental 401(k) plan.

    Special Education Paraprofessional

    Highland Middle School in Ault, Colorado has an open position for a full-time special education paraprofessional.  

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Provide instructional assistance to special education students

    Monitor and evaluate student progress

    Assisting students in a general education classroom

    Participate as a classified staff member within the building

    Participate in all aspects of special education students schooling experience

    Responsible for providing a safe educational environment

    Participant in implementing students’ Individual Education Plans and behavior plans

    Requirements:

    Bachelors Degree and previous office experience preferred, but not required. An ideal candidate will have great customer service skills, be familiar with basic computer programs, be organized and efficient, have great written and verbal communication skills, and be able to solve problems related to a variety of issues.

    High School Math Teacher

    The Weld Re-9 School District headquartered in Ault, Colorado has an open position for a high school math teacher for the 2022-23 school year.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Planning the curriculum and instruction of math classes

    Monitor and evaluate student progress

    Prepare educational records and reports

    Sponsor student related groups and activities as assigned

    Extra-duty activities as assigned

    Requirements:

    Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in math with a teaching certification.  Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado Teaching License.

    Salary and Benefits:

    Part-time Bus Driver


    Primary Responsibilities:

    Operates assigned school bus in compliance with procedures contained in the school bus operator's handbook,

    including all local state and federal laws.

    Performs daily pre and post route safety inspections on assigned vehicle.

    Maintains student conduct that insures the safety of all students.

    Coordinates with supervisor to insure all required information is current and accurate.

    Completes appropriate paperwork.

    Attends training programs, meetings and in-services as required by the district or the state.

    Administers first aid as necessary.

    Reports all accidents/incidents immediately to transportation management or appropriate authorities.

    Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

    Licenses or Certification:

    Ability to Obtain a Colorado Commercial Drivers License

    Pass a First Aid / CPR Course

    Present a Motor Vehicle Report

    Essential Environmental Demands:

    Some dust and dirt, fumes and odors, noise, temperature extremes, and hazardous situations.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands, arms, feet, and legs.

    The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop; kneel or crouch; talk and hear.

    In the event of an emergency school bus evacuation, the employee may be required to assist in the removal of

    children from the rear of the vehicle requiring moving/lifting of over 100 lbs.

    Have the physical ability to make a 42-inch drop from an exit door.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,

    peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    Additional Duties & Benefits:

    The contract period for bus drivers is the instructional calendar.

    Occasionally, drivers will have the opportunity to drive in the summer.

    These trips are usually offered to drivers who receive medical benefits.

    Drivers are entitled to severance, as well as sick, bereavement, and personal leave.

    Salary and Benefits:

    Salary Range is $18.00-$18.90 per hour depending on experience. 

    Benefits include long term disability, paid holidays, sick and personal leave, as well as other benefits specific to our school district.
