Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Michelle Tomlinson
Hi there! My name is Mrs. Michelle Tomlinson, but you can call me Ms. T. I am the new counselor starting here at Highland Elementary. I wanted to take some time to make sure that both families and students got the chance to know a bit more about me.
I graduated from Iowa State University with my degree in Child, Adult and Family Services. After school, I went and traveled the world working on different military bases. I worked with children on their behaviors to make sure that they were being the best that they could be. I had the opportunity to live in Germany, Belgium, Spain and Hawaii for some time. But then I decided that Colorado was my home and I needed to come back here.
I have been working with all different kinds of youth since then and have loved every minute of it. This is my first time in a school setting and I am loving every minute of it.
I live with my husband, Nick. We have two dogs, their names are Lily and Gus. Lily is a Border Collie/ Rat Terrier Mix and Gus is a Chocolate Lab. We love to go take our dogs camping, and exploring places all over Colorado. In my free time, I enjoy baking, watching movies (my favorite is The Goonies), read books, hang out with some friends, go to the pool/ lake, go to Eagles/ Avalanche games, watch the Kansas City Chiefs play football (sorry Broncos) and I love to laugh and have fun!
Please take a peek at the other helpful tabs on my website for more information on local resources, articles, and more on your child's social and emotional development!
I really look forward to meeting each and everyone of you! I am hoping to learn each of the students names very quickly, so help me out telling me your name when I see you in the hall or your classroom.
I’m so excited to be apart of the Husky Family.
