Part-Time Bus Driver

Ault, Colorado

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operates assigned school bus in compliance with procedures contained in the Weld Re-9 Driver Handbook and with federal and state laws
  • Performs Daily pre and post inspection routines on vehicles as needed
  • Coordinates with supervisor to insure all required route information is current and accurate.
  • Works within guidelines and with supervisor to maintain student discipline.
  • Completes paperwork as per driver duties as well as extra tasks assigned i.e. small vehicle fleet.
  • Assists with fueling and cleaning any district vehicle as needed.
  • Is available to drive weekends, late night and possibly overnight trips.
  • Reports ALL accidents and tickets related to driving; school or personal vehicle
  • Attends driver training and in-service meetings held by the district 
  • Any and all other duties, as assigned.
 

Requirements:

  • 21 Years of Age
  • Able to pass the Commercial Driver license physical exam
  • Able to pass the DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle drug test
  • Able to pass a CBI Background Check
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (No more than two accidents or tickets in two consecutive years)
  • Able to pass a criminal background check

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range is $20.00-21.50 per hour depending on years of relevant experience. For part-time staff, the district provides a PERA retirement plan, long-term disability, an optional supplemental 401(k) plan, an employee assistance plan, and the ability to enroll in supplemental insurances and savings accounts through a third-party vendor.  Weld RE-9 offers sick leave and personal leave as well as other benefits specific to our school district. Part-Time Special Education Paraprofessional

Ault, Colorado

Highland High School headquartered in Ault, Colorado has a position open for a part-time, 20-22.5 hour/week Special Education Paraprofessional

Position Summary:  This person is responsible for working in a team environment assisting the instructors in providing educational experiences and support to students. Physical requirements include being in physical condition to enable walking, lifting, standing, sitting, as well as stamina to be on feet and active for full work days. The employee is required to interact with the public and other staff.  Organization skills and basic understanding of spreadsheets are necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional assistance to special education students
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress
  • Assisting students in a general education classroom
  • Participate as a classified staff member within the building
  • Participate in all aspects of special education students schooling experience
  • Responsible for providing a safe educational environment
  • Participant in implementing students’ Individual Education Plans and behavior plans

Salary and Benefits:

Part-Time Elementary School Counselor

Pierce, Colorado

The Elementary School Counselor supports classroom teachers with behavior interventions and social-emotional learning, while also overseeing 504 plans, district assessments, and ensuring students have access to necessary resources. The position also serves as the building liaison for homeless students and state assessments

Position Summary:

Severe Needs Paraprofessionals are responsible for working in a team environment in the Severe Support Needs room to assist the teacher in providing educational experiences and support to students. This position may include duties related to the care of students, which may require lifting, assisting with toileting, and assisting with medical tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers with behavior intervention
  • Oversee 504 plans as well as district progress monitoring testing
  • Be a strong supporter of the classroom teacher
  • Assist Principal with supervision (activities, playground and hall duty)
  • Actively interact with students both in and out of the classroom
  • Lead teachers in providing social and emotional learning
  • Ensure students have access to needed materials such as school supplies
  • Serve as building homeless student liaison
  • Serve as School Assessment Coordinator for all state assessments
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree with a Colorado Department of Education School Counselor License is preferred

  • The Weld Re-9 School District will consider other combinations of education and work experience, as well as individuals enrolled in a Colorado school counseling preparation program

  • Previous counseling and/or teaching experience preferred

  • Candidate who is a team player and willing to go beyond basic contractual obligations preferred

Salary and Benefits:

Severe Support Needs Teacher

Ault, Colorado

The Severe Support Needs teacher is responsible for instructing students with severe needs in grades K-12, depending on the school year. They create lesson plans and a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and provide high quality instruction
  • Assist in the development of, and implementation of, student IEPs
  • Implement curriculum and instructions that align to the Colorado Academic Standards
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress
  • Prepare educational records and reports
  • Analyze student data and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs
  • Conduct classroom and standardized assessments to measure student growth
  • Teach extended learning opportunity mini-courses
  • Provide individualized instruction for students
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with general education teachers
  • Effectively communicate with parents
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a teaching certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Teachers licensed in other areas who are willing to pursue a special education endorsement are encouraged to apply
  • Endorsement, certification, degree, passing PRAXIS score, or being highly qualified in area of instruction is preferred, but not required 
  • Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado Teaching License. The Weld Re-9 School District considers candidates pursuing alternative pathways to the classroom
  • Candidates must be knowledgeable in the field of instructional technology

The Weld Re-9 School District is willing to work with candidates to provide alternative pathways to the classroom including alternative teacher licensure programs (bachelors degree in any field required), and emergency or teacher of record authorizations (for individuals currently enrolled in a teacher preparation program). Substitute Teachers

Ault & Pierce, Colorado

Primary Responsibilities:

Substitutes are tasked with filling in for teachers and other staff members, working directly with students. 

Requirements:

A substitute teaching license issued by Colorado Department of Education is required.

Salary and Benefits:

Substitute Teacher pay is $140 per day. Substitutes are enrolled in a PERA retirement plan, earn 1 hour of paid leave accrual for every 30 hours worked, and receive free cafeteria meals.
