High School Language Arts Teacher

The Weld RE-9 School District headquartered in Ault, Colorado has an open position for a High School Language Arts Teacher for the 2024-2025 School Year.

This position is responsible for the instruction of students in 9th-12th grade.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop course content in relation to the Colorado Academic Standards
  • Plan, organize, and implement effective instructional strategies and lessons
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues in department and building level administration
  • Develop individualized lessons and programs for students as needed
  • Communicate students' academic progress and needs with appropriate stakeholders
  • Administer, edit, proofread, and grade student work in a timely manner
  • Additional job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in English with a teaching certification is preferred.  Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado Teaching License. The Weld Re-9 School District is willing to work with candidates to provide alternative pathways to the classroom including alternative teacher licensure programs (bachelors degree in any field required), adjunct authorizations (No bachelors required, but 5+ years of work experience in the field the candidate will teach), and emergency or teacher of record authorizations (for individuals currently enrolled in a teacher preparation program). Middle School Head Secretary 

AULT, Colorado

The Weld RE-9 School District headquartered in Ault, Colorado has an open position for a Middle School Head Secretary for the 2024-2025 School Year.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receptionist for the Middle School including answering phones, checking in students and visitors, mail distribution, updating the school’s website and marquee sign

  • Collect and manage student and staff absence information and schedule substitutes

  • Process student registrations, maintain student record files, manage Infinite Campus users

  • Provide support to staff including ordering supplies, entering purchase requisitions, managing grading windows, distributing report cards and progress reports

  • Must have an outgoing and very positive personality as you are the first person to greet all building visitors.

  • Must be able to assist in student supervision when needed.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess strong self-initiative and organizational skills, be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, be comfortable providing support to staff members, students, parents, and the general public, and be proficient in Excel.

Substitute Teachers

Ault & Pierce, Colorado

Primary Responsibilities:

Substitutes are tasked with filling in for teachers and other staff members, working directly with students. 

Requirements:

A substitute teaching license issued by Colorado Department of Education is required.

Substitute Teacher pay is $132 per day. Substitutes are enrolled in a PERA retirement plan, earn 1 hour of paid leave accrual for every 30 hours worked, and receive free cafeteria meals.

High School Counselor

AULT, Colorado

The Weld RE-9 School District headquartered in Ault, Colorado has an open position for a High School Counselor beginning in the 2024-2025 School Year.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Approximately 285 students on caseload
  • Develop student schedules and assist with the master schedule.
  • Do regular credit checks to ensure students are meeting graduation requirements.
  • Oversee 504 plans as well as progress monitoring testing
  • Actively interact with students both in and out of the classroom
  • Serve as building homeless student liaison
  • Develop and monitor students' post-secondary plans, including facilitation of potential apprenticeships, job shadows, internships, etc.
  • Serve as School Assessment Coordinator for all state and local assessments
  • Serve as scholarship coordinator for students.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate by building principal

Requirements:

Candidate must possess or be able to obtain appropriate licensing from the Colorado Department of Education.   MA degree in guidance and counseling strongly preferred. Teaching experience strongly preferred. Candidate must have successful experience working with high school aged students.  Strongly preferred that candidate is a team player willing to go above and beyond basic contractual requirements.

Armed Director of Security

AULT, Colorado

The Weld Re-9 School District headquartered in Ault, Colorado is looking for a Director of Security for the 2024-2025 school year. The position can be full or part time depending on the needs/desires of the selected candidate. The Weld Re-9 School District welcomes all candidates to include PERA and law enforcement retirees, reserves, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Guard, patrol or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence or rule infractions
  • Create and implement safety plans
  • Preserve the safety and welfare of students, staff and visitors
  • Document activities and rule violations.
  • Coordinate with local fire and police departments
  • Conduct training drills
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances

Requirements:

POST certification preferred, but not required. Candidate must provide their own duty weapon.
Candidates without an active POST certification must be able to meet Armed School Security Guard Standards which include:
1. Be authorized and designated or recognized by your governing board as having the primary duty and responsibility to guard, deter, and detect threats
2. Must comply with local/state requirements to carry a weapon
3. Must meet the following training requirements:
- 4 hours of classroom instruction to include firearms safety, use of deadly force, legal principles, and weapons retention in a school environment
- 14 hours of live range training exercises to include active shooter training concepts
- Pass POST shooting range requirements
- 6 hours of school active shooter training (classroom and simulated)

Armed Security Guards have requirements to requalify annually.

Elementary School Special Education Teacher

Middle School Head Football Coach

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Attend all practices and games
  • Ensure the safety of all participants in practice and at games
  • Adhere to the district athletic policies and eligibility process
  • Communicate and work with Athletic Director as needed
  • Develop and implement practice plans in order to maximize time and player development
  • Communicate with parents regarding rules and expectations of practices and activities

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required and candidate must pass a fingerprint background check as a condition of employment. 

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is 5% of base teacher salary ($2,215 per season as of the time of this posting), as well as enrollment in a PERA retirement plan and unemployment insurance. Candidates who have previously coached football for Weld Re-9 are eligible for $150 per year as an experience factor. Coaching at other districts or schools does not count towards the experience factor.
