Highland Works
Highland High School students aged 16 and older can participate in Highland Works, a program designed to allow students to be employed in various jobs around the district, including food service, transportation monitors, crossing guards, snow removal, and summer grounds/maintenance.
Salary & Benefits:
Highland Works students are paid minimum wage ($14.42 an hour as of 01/01/24), with the exception of snow removal, which pays $20 per hour. Summer workers are enrolled in PERA retirement. All Highland works students earn paid sick leave at the rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

Applications:
To fill out the application, please click here and select "Support Staff" then "Highland Works." Hiring paperwork (tax forms, direct deposit info, safety rules, etc.) will be emailed to you at the email address you provide on your online application. Please note that as part of the hiring process, you will need to provide Mr. Couch with acceptable forms of identification prior to your first day of work. A bank account is also required for direct deposit. A card that includes a routing and account number (such as a MoneyCard from Walmart) can used in lieu of a bank account.
