Alternative Teacher Licensure Program (ATLP)
- Allows prospective educators with a Bachelor's degree in any subject apply for teaching positions (Candidate should have 24 credit hours in the subject they'll be teaching or have the ability to pass the PRAXIS test for the subject
- The first year of teaching, the educator will attend the Alternative Teacher Licensure Program through Centennial BOCES or East Central BOCES (Special Education)
- Grants, while not guaranteed, are available to cover the cost of the ATLP
- To follow this pathway, simply apply for a teaching job with our school district. If you're hired, the district and BOCES will coordinate with you to get you enrolled in the ATLP program
Adjunct Authorization
- Allows prospective educators with 5 years of work experience in a particular field to teach classes in that field without a bachelors degree
- Candidates with a bachelors degree in the subject area they'll be teaching are also eligible for an adjunct authorization
- To follow this pathway, simply apply for a teaching job with our school district in the field you're experienced in. If you're hired, the district will coordinate with you to get the documents necessary for an adjunct authorization
